A Year of Impact, Unity, and Hope
2024 Cedarhurst Senior Living Partnership
with the Alzheimer’s Association
In 2024, Cedarhurst Senior Living and its Cedar Creek communities partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association in a significant, heartfelt commitment to supporting Alzheimer's research, awareness, and family resources. Throughout the year, all 50 communities joined together to participate in 35 walks across eight states, contributing to Cedarhurst’s collective goal of making a tangible impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
The dedication of Cedarhurst’s residents, team members, families, and partners resulted in raising more than $62,000, with Cedarhurst’s sponsorship investments bringing the total contribution to nearly $145,000.
This achievement highlights Cedarhurst’s dedication to building supportive communities and its partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association to promote research and advocacy. Alzheimer’s disease affects millions, including many Cedarhurst residents and their families, making this partnership especially relevant. Through its support of Alzheimer’s research, Cedarhurst looks to contribute to progress in understanding and assisting those impacted by the disease, offering resources and raising awareness for families affected. Together, Cedarhurst and the Alzheimer’s Association work to address this critical issue that impacts so many lives.
A Season of Engagement and Outstanding Participation
Cedarhurst communities demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and team spirit throughout the walk season, with some standing out for their exceptional participation and fundraising efforts. Cedarhurst of St. Charles led the way, with an impressive 43 team members joining their local walk, while the communities in Owensboro and Arnold followed closely behind, each rallying over 30 participants. Cedarhurst of Canton topped the fundraising efforts by gathering an impressive $6,345, while Cedarhurst of Woodland Hills and the Cedarhurst home office both contributed over $5,000.
As donations continue through December 31, Cedarhurst’s current total of $62,037 ranks 36th nationally among National Teams, a significant achievement that underscores the communities’ widespread commitment to the cause of Alzheimer’s.
Creative Fundraising Efforts Across Communities
To raise funds, Cedarhurst communities hosted a variety of events that not only generated contributions but also fostered closer connections among residents, families, and staff. From lively Goat Galas and Pet Fashion Shows to community carnivals, silent auctions, and classic car shows, each event was infused with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. These gatherings, fueled by creativity and compassion, allowed Cedarhurst’s communities to come together and contribute meaningfully toward Alzheimer’s awareness and research.
Almir Sajtovic, President of Cedarhurst Senior Living, emphasized the importance of these efforts, saying, “Reaching this milestone is a testament to the dedication and compassion that runs throughout every Cedarhurst community. Alzheimer’s disease affects so many of our residents, families, and team members, and supporting research and resources for this cause is incredibly meaningful to all of us. By investing in the Alzheimer’s Association through both sponsorship and active fundraising, we’re not only contributing to vital research but also showing our unwavering commitment to those impacted by this disease. I’m so proud of the efforts of our teams across all our communities and grateful for the way they continue to come together to make a difference.”
The Impact of Cedarhurst’s Contributions
The funds raised by Cedarhurst directly contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association’s comprehensive approach to Alzheimer’s research, family support, and public policy initiatives. Each dollar invested supports groundbreaking research aimed at developing diagnostic tools and treatments that can improve quality of life, enhance early detection, and extend independence for those affected. Additionally, contributions sustain essential services such as a 24/7 Helpline, support groups, and educational resources, which offer comfort, guidance, and connection to millions of families and caregivers.
"The Alzheimer's Association is grateful for Cedarhurst Senior Living's commitment to our mission. By activating as 2024 Walk sponsors, fundraising teams and community leaders at dozens of Walk to End Alzheimer's events throughout the country, Cedarhurst connected vital Association resources to thousands of families," said Delia Jervier, Regional Vice President, Alzheimer's Association. "We appreciate their thoughtful investment and dedicated support and are delighted to celebrate their impact on the 2024 Walk season."
As Cedarhurst looks ahead to the future, it remains committed to continuing this vital work. By partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association, Cedarhurst is not only raising funds and awareness but also building a compassionate community where residents, families, and staff are united in a shared mission to bring hope to those affected by Alzheimer’s.
"Reaching this milestone is a testament to the dedication and compassion that runs throughout every Cedarhurst community.”
