Cedarhurst is Built for Living

As a partner of Cedarhurst Living, at Brahms Construction, our main focus is on the quality of life of those who will live in our communities. Nearly every decision for a new community is based around a single question, “Is this what is best for our residents?” With that type of emphasis on quality of care and quality of life, Cedarhurst Living communities are Built for Living –  from the ground up.  Brahms Construction is the team that brings life to each Design for Living.

With a panel of consulting experts and employees that represent some of the best in the business, we have formed an exceptional development and construction team to ensure a successful build for each community. Our buildings are designed and built with the understanding that this community will house active and aging elders for years and years to come. For this reason, extra care and understanding need to be taken into account during each step of the process.

We build our communities to feel as much like home as possible. We offer a variety of apartment sizes and options to support the needs of our residents. Cedarhurst communities will feature large, open common areas with a fireplace perfect for playing cards, putting together a puzzle, or meeting with your book club. Our large dining rooms also feature a private dining space, perfect for a meal with friends and family. Each community offers a spa room complete with a walk-in whirlpool tub for therapy or personal use. Each community also features a selection of highly desired activity rooms: theaters, salons, libraries, common kitchen areas, and beautiful outdoor spaces, with some floor plans including individual patios.

When considering safety and mobility throughout our community, we have taken all of the appropriate measures. Our hallways have solid handrails down each side for stability and are most commonly designed in a circle to help increase mobility and exercise for our elders. There are camera-monitoring systems to help further ensure the safety and security of all. Our doors and bathrooms are handicapped accessible and we have even started to include personal built-in medicine boxes in each apartment to ensure the safety of each individual’s prescriptions.

In our memory care wings, we consulted with members of the Alzheimer’s Association as well as other experts in the field to ensure that our communities were built to help those with dementia and Alzheimer’s thrive in their new environment. This includes an enhanced layout and hallways that are easy to navigate. We also have shadow boxes located near every apartment entrance to help elders find their room and trigger happy memories.

These are just a few of the ways that Cedarhurst is Built for Living.
