Employee Spotlight- Ivy Horton

Cedarhurst of Collinsville has many impressive employees that give their hardest work and dedication to the jobs they perform. Being on the front line staff, especially those who directly care for our residents, is one of the most important jobs that Cedarhurst has. It takes a special person to give direct care for another person, especially an elderly person. Our entire staff is loving, caring and helpful. They are here for the residents and their needs; whether it be a short chat or help with a shower. One person in particular that does an outstanding job and always goes above and beyond to demonstrate the best care for our residents is Ivy Horton.

Ivy has worked for Cedarhurst of Collinsville for over two years. She grew up nearby in Granite City, IL; but attended high school right here in Collinsville. Ivy took classes during high school to become a CNA. She graduated at the top of her class and has been number one in our hearts ever since.

Ivy is an outgoing, beautiful young woman with great potential and drive to do exceptional work! She has a boyfriend of 3 years and a chocolate lab named Dakota. Ivy is a free spirit with a loving heart and sharp mind. She loves music and enjoys going to concerts and attending other outdoor events with her peers. She is a very social person with a great group of friends. She has plans for the future to get married, have children and be a nurse! Ivy is well on her way to all of her hopes and dreams.

Before working for Cedarhurst of Collinsville she worked at a few local nursing homes to gain some experience with the elderly and that line of work. Besides working full time here, she also attends College full time at SWIC for nursing, and has been doing so since August of 2014. We will no doubt see more amazing things from this young woman! We appreciate having her a part of our team here at Cedarhurst and can’t wait to see what is next from her!
