A town rich in history and traditions, Waterloo is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places for its charming downtown. Catering to interests of yesterday and today, Waterloo has a variety of life enriching activities ranging from museums and historic homes to golf courses and local boutiques. Waterloo is also the home to the annual Monroe County Fair, Pumpkin Fest and the Downtown Christmas Walk.

Cedarhurst of Waterloo is comprised of two communities, one for Assisted Living and one for Memory Care.  Our Assisted Living community houses 56 apartments and our Memory Care community houses 30 suites. Both of these communities are built on one-level purposefully designed to combine the comforts and feeling of home with amenities that enrich quality of life for our residents.

We are committed to delivering quality care and maintaining residents’ independence while offering safety, support and a carefree lifestyle. Cedarhurst of Waterloo is more than just a place to live, it is a place to call home.

Assisted Living

We handle the tasks of everyday life such as cooking, housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry so that our residents can enjoy the amenities Cedarhurst of Waterloo has to offer. We understand that some tasks become more difficult with age, so we perfectly balance privacy and independence with expert support.

Memory Care

Cedarhurst of Waterloo’s Memory Care community offers residents a customized lifestyle that allows them to live their life to the fullest. The open floor plan creates a comfortable living experience offering a community kitchen, living room, dining room, and craft corner. In this space residents will enjoy group activities designed to stimulate memories and abilities, allowing our residents to truly thrive.

Our staff aims to make life as easy as possible for our residents. When you no longer have to worry about the little things, you have much more time to pursue the things you’ve always wanted to experience. Our Assisted Living residents can take joy in the beautiful community courtyard and plant flowers or vegetables in the raised garden beds. They can enjoy one of their favorite movies in the theater room or play a game of cards with friends in front of the fireplace.

Every day for our Memory Care residents is constructed to nourish their body, mind, and spirit. Through our “Person-Directed Care” our residents are given the choices to live the life they want to live. They can enjoy our secure courtyard, participate in group or individual activities designed for individuals with memory loss, relax in the living room with friends, or spend some time with our community birds. We are there to offer services designed to foster comfort and love, while ensuring our residents maintain their dignity and respect.

A robust activities calendar is available all year around to ensure an active and enriching lifestyle. With devoted staff available onsite 24/7 and in-apartment emergency call system residents can feel safe and know that they will get the assistance they need whenever they need it.

What a wonderful day! We took a group of our WW II guys up town to Waterloo's Memorial Day ceremony and when they asked for the WW II guys to stand up Howard Ludwig, Urban Wittnaurer, Bill Newgent, Charles Caesar, Bob Papaik and Harold Hirstein were the only ones in the crowd that served in WW II! So very proud of these men - thanks for serving our country! 🇺🇸
